I just spent a delightful couple of days at Indian Hot Springs, in Idaho Springs, Colorado. It’s not Ritz Carlton class by a long shot — but the quaint, antiquey feel of the place is enchanting. We were lucky enough to arrive the night before a big snowstorm blew in, necessitating adding on an additional night’s stay (oh, darn).
The people are very nice and attentive, and you sense that it’s genuine and not derived from following a rulebook. (Perfect example of THAT sort of “friendliness” is what keeps me from shopping at Safeway if I can avoid it: their checkout clerks MUST call you by name when they hand you your receipt — and since they generally don’t know their customers, it’s the most faux-intimate transaction that’s legal. Drives me nuts, and sends me to stores where this isn’t required.)
Indian Hot Springs is wonderful! It provides a great break from city life, the drive is pretty annd not too long, and the water is divine!
Fast Company asked several of the most creative ad agencies in the world to rebrand baby girls. Their mock campaigns recast girls as the No. 1 choice for consumers from China to the U.S.
Agency: 72andSunny Target Demo: U.S. younger males. The Ad Folks: From L.A. and Amsterdam, these are the people who brought you K-Swiss sneakers “sponsored by” Kenny Powers. Their Campaign Strategy: With cheeky fake blurbs, this campaign appeals to would-be dads by hyping baby girls as the “high-performance” child. The downloadable configurator app borrows from popular high-performance automobile apps. Your girl as a souped-up Mustang—that’s an equation a guy can love.

The five most popular ways to serve leftover turkey is as a sandwich, in stew, chili or soup, casseroles and as a burger. Turkey has more protein than chicken or beef. Turkeys will have 3,500 feathers at maturity. Male turkeys gobble. Hens do not. They make a clucking noise.
